Following the City Level Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) Assessment from March 11 to April 11, 2025, Barangay Calawisan emerged as the top barangay in Lapu-Lapu City, ranking ahead of Basak and Caw-oy. This outstanding performance qualified Calawisan to represent the city in the Regional LTIA Onsite Validation held on April 14, 2025.
The validation, conducted by the Regional Awards Committee (RAC) chaired by DILG-7 Regional Director Leocadio T. Trovela CESO III, assessed the barangay’s efficiency in dispute resolution, community engagement, and implementation of Katarungang Pambarangay programs. Validators from the Department of Justice, University of San Jose Recoletos School of Law, Integrated Bar of the Philippines, and DILG-7 were present to review the processes and documentation.
Punong Barangay Arsilito Pejo highlighted the barangay’s case management procedures, resolution methods, and initiatives to inform and involve the community. The validation underscores Calawisan’s dedication to justice, transparency, and exemplary service at the barangay level.
